  • Obtaining an urgent Injunction on behalf of an aggrieved Company Director who discovered that his Co-Director had set up a competitive business without his knowledge using the existing company’s staff and assets.  Smith & Wells worked on a Sunday to prepare the papers for the urgent Hearing.

  • Advising a client on a complex commercial contract dispute with a leading hotel chain and securing a settlement in the sum of £85,000. The chain had initially denied all liability and client had been advised by other firms of Solicitors that she had no case.

  • Advising a prominent local businessman on a Breach of Contract dispute on the sale of a business at £3 million. The buyer refused to acknowledge the existence of a side agreement/loan in the sum of £300,000 plus interest. Proving that the side agreement was valid and recovering the monies, together with substantial interest and legal fees.

  • Assisting a client in obtaining an extension to the licensing terms on a city centre Public House. The Application was contested and Smith & Wells attended the Hearing to secure the later hours of trading sought by client.
